Review - Nars Blush and Bronzer Duo

Well I finally bit the bullet and bought a Nars blush. With all my cosmetic purchases, you might ask why I hadn't jumped on the Nars bandwagon earlier... it's because Nars is absolutely ridiculously expensive here. I'm talking $58AUD (about $53US) for a lipstick, or $85 for a blush duo similar to the one I bought.

So anyway I decided I'm not letting my hard earned cash go to MeccaCosmetica with their overinflated prices so bought it from the international ebay site for less than half the AU prices, including postage! Sure it took almost 3 weeks to arrive, but the savings are worth it!

I bought the colour combination in Orgasm (blush) and Laguna (bronzer) and I'm in love. The quality is amazing (as is expected!), and the colours are perfect. I'd always wanted to try this blush, and I probably have a tonne of dupes for it too, but the price of it here in AU kept me and this beauty separated for so long.

Even though the bronzer seems to have glitter in it, it actually goes on fairly matte so is perfect for contouring. And the blush gives just the perfect amount of sheen to my cheeks.

Lightly contoured with Laguna and topped with Orgasm

Normally I like my cheeks a bit brighter, but this is perfect for when I want to do a bright lip and don't want to look like a clown with bright lips and bright cheeks.

Would I buy Nars blushers again? Yes please! But I'll be going online for my future Nars products.
What are your thoughts on the overinflated prices of Nars in AU? And what Nars products do you have?

  1. Hi Lilit! Orgasm is my favorite! I have the stick. It looks great on you. You're "blushing!" :P

I'm currently hosting an international giveaway hosted by Apothica. You can get so much products from their site that aren't sold in Aussie. Care to join?

  3. Hi Lilit,

oh my gosh! What a price! That´s unbelieveable. I thought in Germany the NARS products are overpriced, but that.... But the products are no more available in Germany.

The duo is very nice and looks great an you. I have the NARS Orgasm and I like it a lot. It looks like the MAC blush in Springsheen.

I bought a few things in New York (eyeshadow and lipgloss). If you have the chance check out the palettes. They are gorgeous!

    xoxo, Sandra

  14. Those two colors look absolutely gorgeous on you!!!

I love these two, but I have them each individually, not in the duo. My NARS collection is growing nicely, I like a lot of their stuff!

It's too bad it's so expensive in Australia though! =(

  15. Wow, it looks beautiful on you! I have the ELF dupe of that palette, but I don't know how much of a dupe it is as I've never seen the NARS one in person, lol.

I don't own a lot of NARS, for the same reason as you - the prices are RIDICULOUS. What I do have I bought from Strawberrynet - a handful of eyeshadows, a blush (Crazed?), and a couple of lip glosses (Harlow and...er, I forget).

  18. I agree! Nars is SO ridiculously overpriced in Sydney!

I had been lemming on Illamasqua products for so long, especially when they launched at Myer! Then when I saw The Amnesty, I bought in 2 plastic bags full of old, unused makeup!
I might go in again before it ends to pick up some eyeshadows :)

    Thanks for the comment xo

  20. Hey Lilit,

The Nars Orgasm/Laguna Duo looks beautiful on you! I have a similar blush and bronzer duo from E.L.F. that is often compared to this one from Nars-but except that it's only $3.00 LOL!
And I purchased the Illamsqua bronzing duo in Glint and Burnish today at Sephora!!! I have not tried it on yet but it looks like it is going to go on beautifully :)

  24. I hate hate hate the inflation here in AU =( I get my bf (whom is American and lives in California) to buy me stuff off the Sephora website and Paypal him the money then he sends it over in flat rate boxes. May i ask which shops you like to browse in for makeup at Parra? I work in the area and would love to know where you get your goodies!! <3 Thanks for sharing =)

  25. Hi Maria, sounds like you've got a good deal there with your bf getting your goodies from the US. It's just ridiculus how expensive things are here, that is if they're available here in the first place!
In Parra I usually check out Cosmo Cosmetics (crn Church and George Sts), there's a Korean makeup store opposite there that have good polishes. And also at Westfields I go to Flormar quite a lot... plus the usual priceline, myer, etc.
